Beautiful, handcrafted fireclay sinks

Handcrafted for life

When Shaws of Darwen was founded at the end of the 19th century, we had a vision - to make the finest handcrafted fireclay sinks in the whole of England.

Today, Shaws enjoys a worldwide reputation for the beauty, quality, craftmanship and practicality of our artisan products. Our famous Butler and Belfast sinks have been in continuous production since the reign of Queen Victoria. We know of Shaws sinks that have been in daily use for more than 100 years, washing dishes and bathing babies.

Our Story

Explore our ranges

All Shaws kitchen sinks are made from heavy duty fireclay; an immensely durable material with a deep, lustrous finish. Our sinks range in size and purpose, from small single bowl sinks perfect for compact kitchens or utility rooms to spacious double bowl sinks for family kitchens. We also offer a collection of inset and undermount kitchen sinks.

Handcrafted the same way for 125 years

Since 1897, Shaws of Darwen have produced sinks from the finest quality heavy duty fireclay at their factory in Lancashire, England. Renowned for their beauty and durability, a Shaws sink is made to last a lifetime.

Design notes

Heavy duty fireclay

Heavy duty fireclay is a blend unique to Shaws, perfected over 120 years. Shaws’ fireclay includes the world’s finest Devon Ball Clay, which is still mixed and poured by hand. It is up to 25% more dense than clay used by other manufacturers and takes more skill to work with. The fireclay is handcrafted into thick solid walls making each sink much heavier and more durable than thinner or hollow-wall sinks.
